We are, of course, amazed that our readers occasionally disagree with our brilliant and witty essays. In fact, sometimes quite a few readers think that The Outrage editors are wrong, misanthropic, idiotic, selfish, deluded, or all of the above.
Mother Outrage always told us that even the dull and the ignorant should have their say, so we've allowed space below for those dissenting opinions (and for shameless flattery).

ACLU stands for All caloused ludites united.
I learned of the ACLU agenda years ago while involved
with a lawsuit against Skagit County and the State
of Washington regarding construction of a garbage burner
with public money. The County was able to impose
a "cost bond" on myself and the group who brought the suit
requiring US to PREPAY all of the COUNTY'S COURT
costs prior to trial. I talked to attorneys all over the country
and all agreed that this "strategy" had never been
accepted before, and was clearly intended to "chill"
and repress legal review of elected offical's actions...
The ACLU was informed, meetings brought a yawn,
and a request that we not call them...they'd call us.
The burner shut down in 4 years and "we the people"
pay nearly 1 million a year to unknown bond holders for
nothing...in "interest" on the tax free bonds...
The county's strategy worked... We bailed on the suit
and pay the bills.

If the black teacher in the New Jersy case had been the one fired would you be just as outraged?

The ACLU is complaining because the Supreme court is taking a neutral stance? That's little more than whinning "You guys are supposed to be on our side."
It appears as though they believe that they have the right to win cases just because they showed up.
Sorry guys, this country is ruled by Law, (at least it's supposed to be) not your egos.
I do agree with KP though, The ACLU does do some valuable work. I just happen to think they're wrong on this issue. I prefer the Institue for Justice, which is sort of a Libertarian version of the ACLU. Check out their website: http://www.instituteforjustice.org.

The ACLU was also purportedly founded by 'card-carrying' communists at the end of WWI. One of the avowed principles of the ACLU states that gun ownership is not a 'right' (as otherwise specified in the 'Bill of Rights'. The only time the ACLU 'protects' the rights of gun owners, is if other rights have been violated, as with a small number of search and seizure cases (Fourth Amendment). One would think the American Civil Liberties Union would (or perhaps should) stand for ALL Rights, not just of their
picking and choosing.

Once again a group who is supposed to promote "Liberty" is showing that they are really just promoting their own agenda. The only group I have ever found which is truly unwavering in promoting liberty is the Libertarian party. Vote Libertarian!

While I agree with most everything in Today's Outrage, I do have a couple comments:
1. You state that, "courts are supposed to enforce laws, based on the fundamental law of the land, the U.S. Constitution." It is my understanding that enforcement is the responsibility of the Executive branch and that the Judicial branch is supposed to INTERPRET the law, including Constitutional issues.
2. I do think that the ACLU does some valuable things, such as defense of the separation of church and state, defense of the rights of the accused, defense of freedom of speech and press, etc. But, I agree with you that it is unfortunate that they promote Affirmative Action, etc.

I checked this section today to see if there were any boneheads out there who might actually defend >>I-got-a-language-warning-from-the-system<< from ACLU. Fortunetely I haven't found anyone.
