Readers Rage back!

September 25, 1997
A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME!

Readers Rage Back!

A day in the life of our postmaster

We are, of course, amazed that our readers occasionally disagree with our brilliant and witty essays. In fact, sometimes quite a few readers think that The Outrage editors are wrong, misanthropic, idiotic, selfish, deluded, or all of the above.

Mother Outrage always told us that even the dull and the ignorant should have their say, so we've allowed space below for those dissenting opinions (and for shameless flattery).

One of the most important and enduring problems in the world today is the insularity of Americans, both the general public and politicians. You and your countrymen are famous for not knowing where foreign countries are or how their people live. When you combine this level of ignorance with the position of your country as the only super power, which status gives you some global duties as well as powers, the result is quite frightening.

Being the most powerful country in the world, we do have a moral obligation to help out the smaller countries, plus its usually a good economic move as well. As far as Clinton - he's been two faced and untrustworthy since before he took office. This is just another example of how the American people can be so apathetic as to let yet another slime of earth crawl up and be called our leader.

Does America have a role in Europe? I would think that history proves it does. Remember the area of Europe from which the 1st world war started! I am not a big fan of Clinton but maybe this time he is right and has to play these word games, to dupe an American public sadly lacking knowledge in history and economics. When you are a member of NATO there are certain areas in the world which you are oblidged to go to as part of a peace keeping force. America cannot have a large standing army in Europe during the cold war and then eight years later decide that Europe is no longer relevant to it's foriegn policy.

Of course what happens in Europe is very relevant to the economy and therefore jobs in America. I personaly am very grateful to America for it's role in helping maintain peace throughout the world as are most people in Britain, by working together, both in economic and military terms, maybe we can stop some of the massive failures of foriegn policy (appeasement of Hitler) that cost such a high price before.

P.S. re: The Impotent Giant please ask the burnt out corpses of Iraqi soliders how impotent it is.

So Clinton's a liar. What else is new?

Name: Jim Flannery (Jim.Flannery@MCI.com) Time: 9/25/97 (18:27:46)
I totally agree with the above commenters. Clinton never did have any credibility. Keep up the fine work!

I'm shocked that Senator Smith would preface his comments about Clinton's credibility with the words "On this issue". Clinton has lost all credibility on all issues.

Typical Clinton not telling the truth and Congress not having the guts to stand up to him.

The US should not be in Bosnia. Its a European problem.

I confess...I send your Outrage to all my friends everyday! Fantastic job!

Now...you say a member of congress thinks Bill Clinton has lost his credibility??? I'm totally stunned by such a comment from an elected official who may be a Republican in disguise.

BILL CLINTON HAS NEVER HAD ANY CREDIBILITY!!! END OF STORY.

This country has evolved into a nation of little sheep that see no evil, hear no evil, nor speak no evil of their leader...they haven't noticed they are following a garbage eating goat.

Bosnia Story...OUTSTANDING COMMENTARY...old story. South East Asia, early 60's...the President today announced he's sending a 'few' specially trained medical technicians to assist the South Vietnam villages with their health needs. These men are members of the United States Army but they will not carry arms, nor will they participate in any military activity...this is a strictly a goodwill mission. We all know the rest of the story.

The Democrats began playing war in a far off place...even ol' Lyndon was picking the targets just like another famous socialist leader...Adolph Hitler (of the Nationalist Socialist Party - NAZI).

But our Lyndon had one 'great idea' after another...such as "our boys won't shoot first!" and then there was the "we're gonna tell'm where we're bomb'n and then we're gonna do it." (ala John Wayne)

How about the edict..."ya cain't jest go in and bomb thar planes on the ground... it's unAmerican..if they ain't flying an shoot'n at 'cha, ya cain't shoot at them fell'ers either."

Then there was the really nice one..."now don't cha go in thar bombing stuff they need to live."

Yes...the Democrats want to play war once more...Billy wants so bad to be a hero in the history books (with the way education is going...I wonder who'll be reading the history books?)

Do I like The Outrage...YES...with the way things are going...it could be the hourly outrage!

Clinton has not lost any credibility on the Bosnia situation, He didn't have any to start with! (He lost his 'C' many years ago in the Viet Nam 'situation' and many times since when on Soviet soil, espousing the greatness of Russia and putting sown America. (All for his ideal ie: supreme socialism, free love for men rulers, and to be above all law personally!)
